The Royal Horticultural Society Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Plant Growth and Development is the de facto entry-level qualification for professional horticulture in the UK. But it is not a gardening course; it is an applied biology course.
The Syllabus
Expect to learn about xylem, phloem, photosynthesis, respiration, and soil taxonomy. You will not learn how to make a hanging basket look pretty.
